    Andrea Cohen Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer

    Andrea has spent over 20 years as a social entrepreneur dedicated to transforming the way care is delivered to seniors at home. As HouseWorks Founder and CEO, her vision crystalized when she took care of both her parents and made an unwavering commitment to redefine what it means to age. As its core purpose, HouseWorks returns a sense of control to adult children and their parents. This is how Andrea and her team built one of the largest, independent private home care companies in the country.

    A visionary leader, Andrea is committed to leveraging her business accomplishments to create a powerful force for bringing about social change. She sits on the Board of The Commonwealth Institute, the Schwartz Center Leadership Council, and the Caregiver Action Network—the nation’s leading caregiver organization – and serves as an appointee to the Massachusetts Women Forum.

    Andrea served as an at-large delegate to the White House Conference on Aging in 2005 and influenced national policies that impact all seniors and family caregivers. Always thinking out-of-the box, she is widely recognized for her innovation in senior care, recently being appointed to the Community Care Corp, a new, federal initiative that mobilizes volunteers to help older adults across the nation age in place.

  • Jeff Murray Chief Operating Officer

    Jeff has spent 20 years focusing on business operations, new business development, and financial planning and analysis in the healthcare industry. As HouseWorks’ Chief Operating Officer, he is responsible for the quality outcomes, client satisfaction, and economic performance of HouseWorks’ comprehensive line of senior care services.

    Prior to joining HouseWorks, Jeff served in the role of Vice President of Operations for NxStage Kidney Care, a subsidiary of NxStage Medical, Inc. In this role Jeff was responsible for the development and operation of freestanding dialysis clinics designed to provide innovative care options for patients, primarily focusing on dialysis in the home. Previously in his career Jeff served in a variety of analytical roles supporting both clinical operations and mergers and acquisitions at Fresenius Medical Care North America.

    Jeff earned an MBA from the University of Massachusetts – Lowell and a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from Bryant College.

  • Sava Berhané Chief Product & Technology Officer

    Sava brings more than 10 years of strategic workforce management, business operations, and technology design and systems integration experience to HouseWorks. As Chief Product and Technology Officer, Sava manages growth, innovation, product development and technology, including building a robust personal care, home safety, and Dementia product and designing technology that enables Caregivers to communicate care plan information from a client’s home, case managers to respond to real-time alerts, and clients to quickly review schedules, alerts, and home activity.

    Previously, Sava was the Chief Operating Officer of Building Excellent Schools, where she was responsible for finance, operations, technology and strategy for the organization, overseeing 110 schools in 26 cities across the country. She started her career at General Electric in corporate mergers and acquisitions.

    She received her J.D. from Yale Law School, where she was an editor of the Yale Journal of Regulation and her bachelor’s degree from Mount Holyoke College. She is a recipient of the distinguished Soros Fellowship, the Boston Chamber of Commerce Pinnacle Award for Emerging Executives, and the Harvard Business School Young American Leader Award. Sava serves as a senior lecturer at Brandeis University’s International Business School and is a board member of the National Women’s Political Caucus PAC.

  • Tony Wolk Executive Vice President of Development

    Tony brings more than 25 years of business, transactional, corporate development and legal experience to HouseWorks. Most recently, Tony was part of the executive leadership team at Universal American Corp., a publicly traded health insurance and health services company focused on the senior market, which was sold to WellCare Health Plans in April 2017.

    Throughout his career, Tony has executed more than 25 mergers and acquisitions with aggregate values in excess of $6 billion, including the successful sales of two public companies where he served as a key member of the executive leadership team.

    Tony is a graduate of Lehigh University and New York University School of Law (cum laude) and was a 2006 recipient of the New Jersey BIZ Forty Under 40 Award.

  • Eric J. Hardt, MD Geriatric Consultant

    Dr. Eric brings over 45 years of experience as a medical doctor to HouseWorks. He is a retired Associate Professor of Medicine at the Boston University School of Medicine and a former member of the Geriatrics Section at Boston Medical Center. He obtained his B.A. at Yale University in 1970 and his M.D. from Tufts Medical School in 1974.

    Prior to coming to Boston in 1984, Dr. Hardt worked as an oncologist, emergency room physician, geriatrician, and primary care doctor for 10 years at Harlem Hospital Medical Center, Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, and Bronx Municipal Hospital Center in New York City. He has served as the Clinical Director of Geriatrics Section and Medical Director of the Home Care Program of the Geriatrics Section at Boston City Hospital and Boston Medical Center. He worked as a hospice medical director for 10 years.

    Throughout his career he followed a diverse group of frail elderly patients in their homes in Boston with Roxbury/Dorchester as the geographic center of his practice. He made nearly 20,000 home visits during his career. He has been board certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, Geriatrics, and Palliative Care. He has been an active educator of medical students, housestaff, fellows, and interdisciplinary medical staff on clinical issues in geriatrics, home care, cross-cultural medicine, culturally competent end-of-life care.
